ENT (Ear,Nose,Throat)
Vocal Cord Lesion: Vocal cord lesions refer to abnormal growths, such as nodules, polyps, or cysts, on the vocal cords. These growths can result from vocal cord abuse, overuse, or irritation. They often lead to voice changes, hoarseness, and discomfort. Treatment may involve voice therapy or, in severe cases, surgical removal.
Early Cancer of Vocal Cord: Early-stage vocal cord cancer is a localized malignancy in the vocal cords. Patients often experience persistent hoarseness and throat discomfort. The prognosis is generally favorable when detected and treated early, with options including surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
Vocal Cord Paralysis: Vocal cord paralysis occurs when one or both vocal cords lose their ability to move effectively. This can result from nerve damage, tumors, or infections. Symptoms include voice changes, breathing difficulties, and aspiration. Management may involve speech therapy, surgical interventions, or medical treatments, depending on the underlying cause.
