He is a fellow of Endovascular Intervention Society of India and the Asia-Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology. He has over three decades of experience in cardiovascular sciences with over 200 publications, more than 150 awards and hundreds of lectures to his credit. He keenly teaches cardiologists in the making. He championed the cause of the underprivileged by pioneering the concept of community outreach – taking cardiac care to doorsteps. He has guest edited several books in cardiology and has trained many doctors in the nuances of cardiology, both nationally and internationally.

Community Outreach Program

Dr. Vijay Kumar Chopra has about 32 years experiencey. Prior He has participated in a large number of international clinical trials as a Principal Investigator, National Lead Investigator in Member Steering Committee. He has vast experience in preventive cardiology and in the management of patients with advanced heart diseases.

Dr.Shahi completed his MBBS from the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore and subsequently his training in Internal Medicine from Grant Medical College, Mumbai. He did his cardiovascular training at SGPGI, Lucknow. He trained in complex coronary interventions in Toulouse, France and transradial coronary interventions in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He also trained in the use of FFR in coronary interventions at Eindhoven, Netherlands. Dr Shahi’s expertise lies in complex coronary interventions including use of drug eluting stents, devices like atherectomy and rotablation, transradial interventions, balloon valvuloplasty procedures, carotid and peripheral interventional procedures and pacemaker implant procedures.
